Private School Financial Aid

Gately’s many volunteers and benefactors raise money each year for student tuition assistance to help families with demonstrated financial need.  At this time the maximum amount of aid granted is approximately 40-45% of annual tuition costs; no full scholarships are available.

Applications are submitted to the School and Student Service by NAIS (SSS), a national screening organization that calculates each applicant’s  ‘expected’ financial contribution (EFC) based on information provided by the applicants.  Gately’s Financial Aid Committee then reviews the SSS reports and allocates aid based on the recommended EFC and the total amount of funding available.  Please realize that timely submission of the application is necessary in order to be considered for aid.

All commitments for financial aid are for the current school year.  Families must reapply for aid each year.  It is Gately’s goal to provide continued support if the need is present.  All aid awards are, of course, contingent on the student maintaining acceptable academic achievement.

Families may access the online SSS application here.  There is a toll-free number with trained staff available to answer questions:  800-344-8328.   Their FAQ page also contains much helpful information.

Please contact our office if you would like to request a paper version of the financial aid application for SSS.

The deadline to apply for 2011-2012 aid is June 15, 2011.  Applications received after that time will be processed in December, and awards made for second semester only.
