2010 Gately Art Festival
The Gately Art Festival is an annual event that offers a glimpse into the importance of integrating the visual, musical and performance arts into the everyday learning at Gately Academy. Funds raised throughout the month go toward purchasing art supplies and supporting art education at Gately Academy private school. This year's events include:
1. Student Art Show - NEW LOCATION! at Providence Portland Medical Center, Cancer Center, displaying Organic Shape Sculptures February 1st-5th
2. Professional Artist Workshops: We will welcome a variety of artists into our community to share about their love of art and how they are making a living inspired by their talents
3. Picasso's Peace Dove, created for the 1949 Peace Congress, was our inspiration for the 2010 Gately Art Festival poster and greeting cards. Items will be for sale throughout the month in the school lobby. Proceeds will benefit Gately Academy art making
4. Student field trip to the Portland Art Museum - This year Gately is going green! We will use MAX to travel downtown to the Portland Art Museum on Friday, February 12th. Once on site we will have a docent-led tour, eat lunch and wander the Museum for a truly unique field trip!
